That's why Katie's Car App is built for people who want to shop in person — especially the people who know they need a car but don't yet know exactly which one. Nearby cars help you learn. Every test drive teaches you something. The app holds onto those lessons until a fuzzy search becomes a clear decision.

The model, the exact car, and the deal are different decisions

A good model can be a bad individual car. A good car can come with a bad offer. And a financially sensible vehicle can still make its owner miserable every day. Katie's Car App keeps four questions visible: whether the car fits your life, whether this exact vehicle is a good example, whether the offer is clean, and whether the complete ownership cost works for you.

Your observations remain the source of truth. Confirmed information, estimates, assumptions, and missing answers are labeled separately. The app may show you a current leader, but it should never bury the reasoning inside an unexplained score.

The app works for the buyer

Most large car marketplaces make money by turning shoppers into dealer leads. That creates the wrong incentives. Katie's Car App doesn't sell you to dealers, doesn't send anything without your approval, and doesn't pretend the car in front of you is your only option.

Premium also includes a Shopping Identity: a dedicated number and email you can give dealers instead of your personal ones. It's an important protection when conversations begin, but it serves the larger mission — helping you find and buy the right car on your terms.

The learning tools are free. Premium is $59.99 once for one car-shopping journey and adds nationwide search, market and deal intelligence, ownership-cost scenarios, and Shopping Identity. It is not a recurring subscription.

What the app does not pretend to be

Katie's Car App does not replace an independent mechanic, provide an insurance quote, make legal conclusions about a dealer, or complete a purchase on your behalf. It gives you structure, memory, comparisons, and timely guardrails. You make the decisions, and the underlying facts remain visible.

Why “Katie”?

Katie is my wife, and I'm Jon Lamb. We wanted a better way to make one of the biggest, most personal purchases a household makes — a way that remembers the whole journey, keeps the buyer in control, and searches farther than any one dealership's lot. So we're building it.

Where we stand on your data

We never sell your information or sell you as a lead. Nothing reaches a dealer without your okay, and you can delete your data whenever you want. The details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms.
